You didn't go far enough. All porn everywhere, not just Substack, needs to be burned with (digital) fire, but that alone won't change the hearts of those who so ignorantly admire this cruel and grotesque modern form of slavery. There are no adequate invectives for the practitioners and consumers of this abomination.

That was very lengthy…but correct. Call a spade a spade.

I'm sure you will receive hate mail

Yes, I've had a bit of hate mail, I take that to mean if they had an argument they could go public with, they would. And since they don't, I've nailed it :) Yes, it was a bit on the lengthy side. Thanks for slogging through it and commenting.

Definitely agree with this essay, man i gotta work at it to write like you do. Really like you standing up for what you believe in.

Write whatever way comes naturally to you, just be your authentic self :) Like I said to Mike in the comments below I write differently depending on how I'm travelling that day. Appreciate the comment and the read.

I have yet to see a single pornographic image on substack. I suspect the algorithm shows porn to those who doth protest too much. How many people complaining about porn on substack consume it regularly on other sites?

"Judge and prepare to be judged." The one thing that still rings valid from my teenaged reading of Ayn Rand.

Shouldn't it be "pudendae"?

What can I say but much agreement from yours truly. Thankfully, I've yet to encounter any of this on Substack. On the other hand, I am primarily focused elsewhere (especially my novels). To that end, I seldom scroll through notes, so that might be why I've not seen any of this stuff. :)

Of late, the book of faces is violating their own stated standards. Children with accounts. Soft core porn in video reels with invitations to go to only fans porn. Once upon a time they had standards.

I used to follow a FB group about 18 years ago, I think they were called Collective Shout. I stopped following over time as I couldn't bear it any more. They were trying and failing to get Zuckerberg to shut down pages objectifying women, but worse were several groups which had"comedy" pages posting stolen sexualised and humiliating photographs of under-age girls captioned with with "humorous" truly unhinged hatred. I don't know if they ever succeeded, FB kept saying it was fine as it was "humour".

I used to report soft porn ads on a loop too, to no avail, probably because I visited one or two of those pages when I was checking Collective Shout's claims.

I've been off FB for a while now.

Zuckerberg's blueprint for FB was to objectify women, he's a dreadful little man. Unfortunately I think this stuff has always been allowed on FB, but until you happen across it you just don't realise.

I joined it because I have friends and relatives living far away to communicate with them. You can make video calls to the other side of the world free. I'm in some Marine/veteran groups and music groups. That stuff is getting pushed out by click bait to advertising and meta's own AI. It might bring it down.

Celtic Chameleon, I agree with all your premise and support your intense rant, a needed thing. I am a survivor of the CHAOS of the sexual revolution of my youth (Boomer) and I detest porn and all its attendant horrors. I was very promiscuous for a decade of my youth, approx. age 18 to 28. Awful sex is what I experienced, debasing to myself and the people I jumped into bed with. The War between men and women is always being fought, one way or another. I am quite happy to be celibate and free from all the pressure of modern sex. ENOUGH, I say. God created sex for procreation first and then for honorable blessed intimacy between husband and wife. There are reasons for God's laws surrounding sex. I broke them all, paid the price and now write as one who survived that mess. Blunt is what I am...with self first! Hey, I watched my beloved gay men friends DIE OF HIV, one by one. Not fun, not hip, not cool. AWFUL and not worth all the shagging going on. Marketing is what the devil is good at! Keep writing, keep ranting. I want ZERO porn or flagrant photos on Substack. ZERO. Go to sites that promote that mess, not on here with us sincere and dedicated writers. For me, erotica is WAY overrated. This is based on my intensive life experience, NOT on opinion. Porn debases and damages both men and women. OK, my rant over. Wendy

The first time I saw the phrase “sex worker” I thought it was taken from a 70s sci-fi novel. But no, just another terrible euphemism. Good to see you tackle it.

And like so may of these insidious euphemisms, it simply appears one day out of the blue, and one finds that everyone is using it, as if there were a secret meeting at which this was decided.

Thanks. I am shocked how few ppl get this has permanently changed straight men - they’re emasculated from the moment of puberty. It’s so traumatic being confronted with this depiction of the object of your affection (women) as a straight teen boy. Internet pornography is terrorism.

It's distressing to me that our young people actually think porn, and especially the sort of demented porn now available freely with two clicks, has anything at all to do with sex. It has caused devastation amongst the younger generations.
